Love Pictures brings together photographs and drawings by artist Jess T. Dugan in their
first solo gallery exhibition in London. Working in different media, Dugan explores the
complexities of personhood, relationships, desire, love, and family through photography,
film, writing, and drawing. Their work is informed by their own life experiences, including
their identity as a queer and nonbinary person, and reflects a deep belief in the
importance of representation and the transformative power of storytelling.
Their photographs—including portraits, still life images, and landscapes—center around
the desire to be seen and understood, the need to live fully and authentically, and the
power of intimate connection.
Their drawings are from I’m right here with you, a series of botanical drawings, made
early each morning as part of a long-term meditative practice, about the ephemerality of
life, the immensity of love, and the duality of beauty and loss. This body of work debuted
at the Pulitzer Arts Foundation in St. Louis, Missouri in 2025 and this exhibition marks
its international debut.
